Research Programs
2006 Pilot Grants Awarded
To strengthen and support basic science cancer research at the University of
Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center (UMGCC), $200,000 in Cigarette
Restitution Fund Program funds were earmarked for a Pilot Grant Awards program.
Researchers in each of four cancer center research programs — Viral
Oncology, Molecular
and Structural Oncology, Hormone
Responsive Cancers, and Experimental
Therapeutics — were invited to submit applications for this year’s
Pilot Grant awards. A maximum of two awards totaling $50,000 were allotted to
each research program.
