Flow Cytometry Instrumentation

The MoFlo� Flow Cytometer from Cytomation, is a cell sorter capable of sorting four separate populations based on any of 8 parameters simultaneously and at high-speed. It offers the sorting precision required for the isolation of rare-cell populations with high purity and yield. It can sort up to 70,000 events per second, approximately five to 10 times faster than other existing instruments. Sorted cells are viable, and purity is greater than 99 percent at any speed. The current configuration provides 2-laser, 3-laser line excitation, with many wavelengths available. The primary laser, an Enterprise II Argon Ion laser excites with 488 and UV lines and with the addition of a Helium Neon Laser we have a line at 633nm. In its current configuration the instrument will detect up to 6 colors as well as forward- and side-scatter information and time as a parameter.
