All applicants must be graduates of an approved medical school and have satisfactorily completed one year of approved post-graduate training (PGY-1), prior to entering clinical training in radiation oncology. We accept all applications through ERAS. All positions are offered only through the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP).

After our selection committee has reviewed your application, you will receive an email or phone call informing you of the status of your application. All interviews are held on Friday and are by invitation only. Interviews last for half of the day. We have found that this format allows for a more organized interview for both you and our faculty and minimizes interruptions.

The Department of Radiation Oncology, via an Endowment Fund for Academic Excellence in Radiation Oncology has several scholarship opportunities to be awarded to medical students who attend the University of Maryland School of Medicine The student must demonstrate a strong interest in Radiation Oncology. The scholarship awards for this program are worth up to $2,500.
