Retinoblastoma

Risk Factors

The only known risk factor for retinoblastoma is a genetic one. About 40 percent of retinoblastoma cases result from a gene abnormality inherited from a child's parents. The nonhereditary cases have no known cause, so nothing can be done to prevent them.
