A vaccine used
to prevent cervical, vulvar, and vaginal cancer caused by
human papillomavirus (HPV) types 16 and 18 and genital
warts caused by HPV types 6 and 11. It is also used to
prevent lesions that are caused by these viruses and that
can lead to cervical, vulvar, or vaginal cancer.
Quadrivalent human papillomavirus (types 6, 11, 16, and 18) recombinant vaccine is used in females
aged 9-26 years. It is also used to prevent genital warts
in males aged 9-26 years.
Quadrivalent human papillomavirus (types 6, 11, 16, and 18) recombinant vaccine is being studied in
the treatment of other medical conditions.
Also called Gardasil.
