Malignant melanoma of soft parts (muh-LIG-nunt MEH-luh-NOH-muhpartz)
A soft tissue tumor that begins in a tendon (tough, fibrous, cord-like tissue that connects muscle to bone or to another structure). Malignant melanoma of soft parts has certain markers that are also found on malignant melanoma (a type of skin cancer). It usually occurs in the leg or arm. Also called clear cell sarcoma of soft tissue.
