Aflibercept (a-FLIH-ber-sept)
A substance being studied in the treatment of several types of cancer. Aflibercept blocks the action of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and may prevent the growth of new blood vessels that tumors need to grow. It is a type of antiangiogenesis agent. Also called vascular endothelial growth factor trap and VEGF Trap.
