The staff of the University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center offers patients a range of services and care to support not only the physical demands of cancer treatment, but the emotional challenges faced by patients and their families as well.
A full-time Patient Navigator is available to help patients and their families get access to the many resources available through UMGCC and the American Cancer Society.
The Patient Resource Center, located on the first floor of the Weinberg Building, is available to patients and families. The Resource Center offers pamphlets, books, audiotapes and videotapes on a wide range of cancer-related topics. A computer with Internet access allows you to reveiw educational web sites during your visit to UMGCC. The Center also offers wellness classes and seminars. To contact the Patient Resource Center, call 410-328-9355.
A patient representative or a nurse manager is always available to address specific issues or to assist in problem solving. Patient representatives can be reached at 410-328-8777.
UMGCC has a staff psychologist, as well as nurses, social workers and other professionals who understand the special needs of cancer patients and their families. UMGCC staff can help patients cope with the emotional aspects of their illness and the effects of cancer treatment. We also assist patients in making plans when it is time to leave the hospital.
