The University of Maryland Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Cancer Center (UMGCC) has become a member of the Myeloproliferative Disorders Research Consortium, an international, multi-instssitutional non-profit consortium funded by the National Cancer Institute.
The consortium was set up to coordinate, facilitate, and perform basic and clinical research investigating the genetic and cellular mechanisms of Philadelphia chromosome negative myeloproliferative disorders.
Maria Baer, M.D., professor, Department of Medicine, and member of the Hematologic Malignancies Program at the Cancer Center, is the MPD-RC principal investigator at UMGCC. Ivana Gojo, M.D., associate professor, and Saul Yanovich, M.D., professor, Department of Medicine, are co-investigators.
