Diagnostic and treatment services
Our multidisciplinary program offers a full range of diagnostic and treatment
services. Patients receive the highly individualized program of care they need
while undergoing complex, aggressive therapies. Services include:
Surgery
- Radical surgery for ovarian, uterine, cervical and vulvar malignancies
- Minimally invasive surgery, including robotic- or laparoscopic-assisted surgery, for cancer staging and treatment of cervical and uterine cancer
- Reconstructive surgery, including muscle flaps for vulvar reconstruction, urinary conduits and bowel surgery related to cancer treatment
- Fertility-sparing surgery for early-stage cancers when appropriate
- High-risk evaluation and treatment, including counseling for risk reduction and prophylactic oophorectomy/hysterectomy for women at increased genetic risk of gynecologic malignancy
- Evaluation and management of pre-malignant conditions of the vulva, vagina and cervix, including laser ablation therapy
Chemotherapy
- Chemotherapy including neoadjuvant chemotherapy, adjuvant chemotherapy, consolidation therapy, salvage chemotherapy and hormonal therapy
- Intraperitoneal chemotherapy for ovarian cancer
- Clinical trials, including both national multi-institution studies and local trials designed by our physician experts
- Chemotherapy for radiation sensitization
Radiation
- External beam radiation therapy including 3-dimensional conformal radiation therapy (3D-CRT), intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and palliative radiation therapy
- Vaginal brachytherapy, both high- and low-dose rate
- Stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) when applicable
