One of the main focuses of our Skin Cancer Program is the management of patients
with high-risk melanoma. This includes patients with:
- increased risk of developing melanoma, either due to a personal or family
history of melanoma or dysplastic nevus syndrome (atypical moles)
- increased risk of progression of melanoma, due to the presence of thick primary lesions, which are more likely to spread, or due to lymph node involvement
These patients are followed closely at regular intervals to monitor for new primary lesions, recurrence and response to treatment.
