Breast Evaluation and Treatment

Breast Care Services

Our experienced team specializes in the evaluation and treatment of all types of breast conditions and concerns, including:

• benign and malignant breast tumors
• breast pain
• nipple discharge
• suspicious and abnormal mammograms
• second opinion consultations (medical oncology, radiation oncology, surgical oncology)
• patients with a previous breast cancer or positive biopsy
• patients at high risk for breast cancer with and without BRCA1 or BRCA2 mutations

Our comprehensive Breast Care Services include:

• Consultations and second opinions for newly diagnosed and recurrent breast cancer
• Comprehensive diagnostic breast imaging, including all-digital mammography, ultrasonography, MRI, CT and PET/CT
• Breast pathology
• Minimally invasive biopsy techniques, including stereotactic and ultrasound-guided core needle biopsies, fine needle aspiration and MRI-guided breast biopsies
• Conservative surgical techniques, including incisional or excisional biopsies, lumpectomy, sentinel lymph node biopsy and axillary dissection
• Modified radical mastectomy
• Reconstructive surgery, including state-of-the-art DIEP Flap microvascular procedures
• Chemotherapy for early and advanced breast cancer
• Endocrine/hormonal therapy for early and advanced breast cancer
• External beam radiotherapy and Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)
• Electron beam radiotherapy with or without hyperthermia for recurrent breast cancer
• Brachytherapy -- interstitial implants of radioactive seeds (MammoSite™)
• Treatment options counseling
• Combination therapies
• Treatment of metastatic disease
• Clinical trials for early and advanced breast cancer
• Individual and family psychological counseling
• Genetic counseling, including breast cancer risk assessment based upon family history, as well as cancer prevention strategies
