Diagnostic and Treatment Services
The program team works together throughout the treatment
process to ensure that patients receive the highly individualized program of
care they need while undergoing complex, aggressive therapies. The team meets
to:
- Evaluate patient profiles
- Review and discuss treatment plans
- Examine new developments in treatments that could be beneficial to patients
The program offers a full range of diagnostic and treatment services designed,
including the following:
- Consultations for newly diagnosed and recurrent soft tissue tumors
- Limb-sparing surgery
- Diagnostic MRI, and CT scan
- Soft tissue tumor pathology expertise for diagnosis and consultation
- Treatment of metastatic disease
- Second opinions
- Combination/multimodality therapies
- Brachytherapy
- Outpatient core-needle biopsies
- New therapies for all stages of cancer
Patients in the program have complete access to the full range of medical
support services at the University of Maryland Medical Center.
