Bone marrow and peripheral blood stem cell transplants are procedures used to restore cells of the body that have been destroyed by high doses of chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy. The transplant procedure allows cancer patients to receive aggressive, high-dose treatments, since the transplanted cells are able to rebuild the patient's bone marrow following treatment.

Our Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) Program features a state-of-the-art unit dedicated solely to the care of transplant patients and their families. We perform both autologous (patient's own cells) and allogeneic (matched donor cells) transplants to treat many different types of cancer, including Hodgkin's Disease, Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, Testicular cancer, Leukemia (acute and chronic) and Aplastic anemia.

Our transplant experts are actively engaged in research into new ways to treat patients with cancer, including graft engineering and immunotherapy (using the body's own immune system to fight cancer).
